Synopsis
The story takes place in Antakya in 1934, when the region is under French occupation. Aziz Payidar is the heir of the wealthy Payidar family, which owns the largest carpet business in the city. He enjoys a comfortable life and dreams of marrying his childhood sweetheart, Dilruba.
However, Aziz’s life changes dramatically when he kills a French lieutenant while trying to protect a young woman named Efnan from an assault. Knowing that he will face severe punishment, Aziz escapes from Antakya and disappears for two years.
When Aziz finally returns home, he discovers that everything has changed. His father has died, the family has lost its wealth, and Dilruba is engaged to his nephew Adem. At the same time, his uncle Galip has become one of the most powerful men in the city through his cooperation with the French authorities.
